Soccer Expert Sutton Battles Singer Murs in Premier League Forecasts
Arsenal's ten-match victorious streak came to an end by Sunderland before the global hiatus, however will the Premier League frontrunners bounce back against local foes Tottenham this Sunday?
"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," remarked soccer specialist Chris Sutton.
"Frank will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still manage to win."
Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, versus AI, readers and a variety of special visitors.
For week 12, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.
Murs' new album, Knees Up, is available on the weekend.
Football and Family Experiences
Murs is a skilled soccer player as well as a accomplished artist and has been a featured player of several Soccer Aid matches over time - but he is not planning a professional comeback as a footballer.
"{I actually played in a benefit game the other evening for a mate of mine," he explained. "My side was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you will!
"I still love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it properly again.
"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my daughter or boy chooses to play instead."
Murs and his spouse his partner have a young family, their daughter and their son, and he is ready to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their coach.
"I will not force football on our children but I've previously told my wife that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be managing their weekend football side," he added.
"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously was involved with a football club for a while too.
"My father did it with us when I was a child, which is likely where I get it from. He managed our side for two or three seasons and had great fun with it. That might be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"
Top Division Forecasts
Weekend, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
Chelsea might have to wait a bit longer for their star's comeback from injury but their offense is already stronger with Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.
In my opinion this fixture will be fairly close, though. The Clarets are well organised and their only at Turf Moor losses so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.
It smells of a 1-1 tie to me, but I am in fact going to choose the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.
The expert's prediction: 1-2
The singer's pick: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3
Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Cherries have been defeated in their past two games - although both of them were on the road - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which shocked me.
On the other hand, West Ham won two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they do look strong again.
The Hammers' only away victory this campaign came at Forest in August, when West Ham boss Nuno Espirito Santo was previously that team's manager.
So, what exactly do I go with here - can the Hammers extending their streak under Nuno, or the home side bouncing back?
I am going to choose Bournemouth, because I believe what happened against Villa was a blip.
The pundit's forecast: 2-0
Olly's outlook: Bournemouth are doing well but the visitors have improved under their boss. 2-2
The algorithm's prediction: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Bees were considered one of the favourites for relegation before the season started, but they have surprised a several observers under their manager and are in good form with three wins in their past four games.
My son told me to select Brentford forward Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks ago and, guess what, I ignored the advice.
Thiago will likely find the net again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or support the away side at Brighton's ground.
The Bees have not had great success on the travel this season, and Brighton are always strong at their stadium. Brentford will try to hit them on the break but I think the home manager's side carry much more of a danger.
The analyst's prediction: 2-1
Olly's view: This could be a match where you expect there is going to be a lot of goals but it actually proves to be rather close. 1-1
AI's outcome: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
It is a massive game for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their last six games.
Fulham have have lots of quality in their team but it nonetheless seems like they could be dragged into a drop zone battle.
Regarding the Black Cats, well they are the unexpected success of the top flight season so far.
The away side's performance in the 2-2 draw with the Gunners last time out was superb. We've not seen any other team disrupt the North London side like that this term, and they were more than a match for them.
The logical choice to do to support the Black Cats here, because they are clearly capable of disrupting Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they beat Chelsea at the close of last month.
But I am not going to do that. Instead, I truly need to carry on opposing the away team with my predictions. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their good outcomes because they evidently love to prove me wrong.
Considering the home side's at Craven Cottage record, the only team they have lost to is Arsenal. Their manager's side will be absolutely desperate for a good outcome, so I am going to say they will pick up three much-needed points.
Sutton's prediction: 1-0
The guest's prediction: I know Sunderland are doing well and additionally that the hosts are on a poor streak... but they have still been respectable at home this campaign. 2-0
The algorithm's prediction: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
It is a tough fixture to predict. Liverpool have suffered seven of their last ten matches in all competitions, but could they be among the sides who benefit from the {international break|
