Shock as Beloved South African DJ Killed in the City of Johannesburg.
A popular South African media personality and entertainer has been shot dead in the country's largest city Johannesburg, triggering widespread grief across a country struggling with persistent crime.
Warrick Stock, widely recognized as DJ Warras, was gunned down in the central business district on Tuesday afternoon.
Authorities reported the 40-year-old entertainer was confronted by three suspects, with one shot at him before fleeing on foot.
The purpose of the attack remains unclear and no suspects have been apprehended have taken place, as per the official statement.
How It Happened
Authorities indicated that Stock was attacked as he was exiting a location in the vicinity of the Carlton Centre.
He had been present for hours at the building overseeing the installation of security systems, which had been controversially occupied by unidentified individuals, as per local media.
"Authorities believe the victim was approached by three unidentified men after he parked his car, and they shot at him before running from the location on foot," authorities stated.
Security camera video reportedly captured a individual with dreadlocked hair and dressed in what resembled a guard's attire opening fire on Stock before fleeing.
The DJ tried to run away after he was shot but fell down on the opposite side of the road.
It was further revealed that Stock had an weapon on his person and nothing was taken during the attack.
